The assurances by the Civil Contract party of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which won the recent parliamentary elections in Armenia, regarding its commitment to the CIS give grounds for optimism about Yerevan’s constructive engagement within the Commonwealth. CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev told TASS about this.
“We will wait and see what this leads to. The assurances of the winners regarding their friendship with Russia are encouraging, and their commitment to the CIS is encouraging as well,” he said.
