A coordination meeting of heads and leading specialists from the military medical services of the Armed Forces of CIS member states was held at the Belarusian Military Academy.
The discussions focused on cooperation between civilian and military healthcare systems, with participants exchanging experiences and reviewing practical approaches to organizing medical support.
Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces - First Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Muraveiko underscored the relevance of the topic, emphasizing the interaction between the civilian healthcare sector and its military counterpart.
“Drawing on the experience accumulated in Belarus, I make no distinction whatsoever between military and civilian medicine. All our medical university graduates are liable for military service, are registered and have military occupational specialties. On the other hand, military medicine today is acquiring numerous new techniques, and its synergy with the civilian sector is driving significant progress in healthcare in general,” Pavel Muraveiko stressed.
“The issues on the agenda at today’s coordination meeting will, I am confident, provide fresh momentum and enable both sectors to develop not only within our respective countries but also across the broader framework of our cooperation,” he added.
