Cooperation with International and Regional Organizations

The Executive Committee of the CIS maintains relations with the executive bodies of more than 20 international and regional organizations, with which 15 cooperation agreements have been concluded (including the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the UN Office in Geneva, the secretariats of UNCTAD, UNECE, UNAIDS, CSTO, SCO, the General Secretariat of the Latin American Integration Association, IOM Administration, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and others).

Currently, the Commonwealth of Independent States is developing the “CIS+” platform – a new form of cooperation involving partners and observers. Its main goal is to expand the CIS regional links by inviting additional countries, international organizations, and associations to cooperate, not necessarily part of the Commonwealth. This format aims to enhance the international authority and transparency of the CIS, as well as to promote a positive image of the organization on the global stage.
