CIS Secretary-General Sends Greetings to Organizers and Participants of Ceremony Marking Implementation of CIS Youth Capital Project in Kapan

The ceremonial event marking the implementation of the CIS Youth Capital international project was held in Kapan, Republic of Armenia, on July 23, 2026.

CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev sent greetings to the organizers and participants of the ceremony.

In his message, Sergey Lebedev noted that Kapan had been awarded the honorary status of CIS Youth Capital in the year marking the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

“This is well-deserved recognition of the city’s contribution to the development of international youth cooperation. Kapan has repeatedly received young people from the CIS countries. It hosted a meeting of the CIS Council on Youth Affairs and finalists of the 100 Ideas for the Commonwealth project presented their original works here. This year, the historic and picturesque city of Kapan surrounded by majestic mountains has once again become a center of attraction for active, talented and ambitious young people,” the message reads.

As part of the project, the city will host international forums, educational camps, as well as sports, cultural and business events. These activities will enable young people from different countries to exchange experience, find like-minded peers and contribute to building a shared future.

Sergey Lebedev expressed confidence that the status of CIS Youth Capital would provide a strong impetus for the implementation of new ideas, help unlock the creative potential

of the younger generation and strengthen intercultural dialogue.

He wished Kapan many vibrant and memorable events and all participants inspiration, new discoveries, success in their endeavors and boundless energy.

“May this time be full of the joy of communication and creative endeavor,” CIS Secretary-General emphasized.
