CIS Further Develops Cooperation in Digitalization and Information and Communication Technologies

On July 28, the CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives considered the report on cooperation among the CIS member states in digitalization and information and communication technologies. Following the discussion, the participants noted the steady progress made by the CIS member states in advancing digital development and strengthening their position in the global ICT market.

The Council identified the following priorities for the near future:

  • further develop information and communication technologies through digital platforms;
  • expand electronic services and improve the quality of services for citizens and businesses;
  • facilitate access to low-orbit satellite communication systems;
  • create an alliance of IT parks and startups;
  • introduce an effective mechanism for cross-border digital signatures.
