Within the framework of the International Project “CIS Youth Capital” the following events are planned in Kapan for 2026 for the youth of the Commonwealth countries:
– CIS Youth Forum;
– educational camps;
– training sessions;
– round tables;
– presentations of the city’s opportunities within youth programs;
– meeting of the CIS Council on Youth Affairs.
To enhance effectiveness, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia will integrate the programs “CIS Youth Capital – 2026” and “Youth Capital of Armenia – 2026”.

The decision to recognize Kapan as the “CIS Youth Capital” in 2026 was adopted on June 8, 2023, at the CIS Heads of Government Council meeting in Sochi.
