The CIS Observation Mission for the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation will be headed by CIS Deputy Secretary-General Ilhom Nematov. His nomination was approved by the members of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member States to the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth during its meeting in Minsk on July 28.
The elections to the State Duma of the ninth convocation will be held during the Unified Voting Days, from September 18 to 20, 2026, with September 20 designated as the main voting day. A total of 450 deputies will be elected: 225 deputies from party lists and 225 from single-mandate constituencies.
The CIS Observation Mission will traditionally monitor the elections at the official invitation of the Russian side.
The Mission will include representatives of the CIS member states and integration organizations operating within the Commonwealth.
Election monitoring will be conducted on both a long-term basis (analysis of electoral legislation and the election campaign) and a short-term basis (observation during the voting period).
