On 22 September 2026, a working meeting on preparations for the seventh meeting of the CIS Commission on Human Rights was held at the CIS Executive Committee by videoconference.
The event was attended by the Commission members representing Belarus and Russia, authorised representatives of the offices of Commission members representing Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, authorised representatives of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the Statutory and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as officials from the Commission’s Secretariat and the CIS Executive Committee.
The participants discussed the state of preparedness of the items included into the draft agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Commission scheduled for 25 November 2026. They also agreed on the dates for holding a roundtable on the theme “Mediation mechanisms for Settlement of Disputes Affecting Human Rights” and a conference marking the 60th anniversary of the adoption, on 16 December 1966, of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. The events will take place in Minsk on 26 November and 3 December 2026, respectively.
The next working meeting will be held on 19 October 2026.
