President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Secretary-General of the International Organisation for the Russian Language Natalia Bocharova at the Akorda presidential residence.
President of Kazakhstan emphasised the importance of establishing the International Organisation for the Russian Language as a modern, authoritative and effectively functioning institution dedicated to strengthening humanitarian ties among its member states.
The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture. According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the interests of all member states should be taken into balanced consideration when implementing joint projects. He also noted that language should serve to bring people together rather than become subject to politicization.
In turn, Natalia Bocharova expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his support for the organisation’s activities and briefed him on plans for its further development.
