The 83rd meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Customs Authorities took place in Brest, Republic of Belarus, on 23 September 2026 and was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the customs service of the Republic of Belarus.
The meeting was attended by the Council members – heads of customs authorities of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as the CIS Executive Committee representative.
The participants discussed a number of issues related to customs cooperation, including:
- information technologies and software to be used to improve customs administration;
- classification of goods;
- rules for defining the country of origin of goods;
- facilitation of transit transportation.
The Council also approved its Work Plan for 2027, elected the Chairman and appointed the Secretary for the next term.
The next Council’s meeting was proposed to be held in the Russian Federation in the first half of 2027.
