In the first half of 2026, 20 meetings of CIS sectoral cooperation bodies were held (compared with 24 during the same period last year). A total of 198 agenda items were considered covering:
- state and development of multilateral cooperation among the CIS member states and the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies;
- sectoral and cross-sectoral cooperation;
- cooperation with the working bodies of international, regional and public organizations;
- activities of the CIS basic organizations in various fields;
- progress in implementing activities dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States and to the Year of Health Protection (in Russian) in the CIS;
- organizational, financial, personnel and other matters.
During these meetings, progress in the preparation and coordination of 12 draft documents to be submitted in accordance with the established procedures to the Commonwealth’s supreme bodies was also reviewed. These documents include:
- Report on the Practice of Harmonizing the Legislation of the CIS Member States Governing Securities Market Taxation Procedures, Practices and Specific Features;
- Information on the Activities of the CIS Basic Organization for Scientific and Innovative Cooperation in Nanotechnology – the International Innovative Centre for Nanotechnology (non-profit partnership);
- Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation among the CIS Member States in the Development of Civil Shipbuilding and Ship Equipment Manufacturing of December 12, 2024;
- Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation among the CIS Member States in the Development of Heavy Engineering Industries of June 5, 2025;
- Concept for the Development of International Railway Transport Corridors within the framework of the CIS Railway Transport Council;
- Concept of Cooperation among the CIS Member States in the Development of the Electronics Industry and the Action Plan for its Implementation;
- Report on the Activities of the CIS Council on Industrial Policy for 2022–2025;
- Action Plan for the Implementation of the CIS Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development for 2026–2035;
- Protocol Amending the Agreement on Cooperation among the Ministries of Defense of the CIS Member States in Monitoring the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Environment of November 14, 2008;
- Decision of the CIS Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs on the CIS Basic Organization for Research on Border Control, Personnel Training and Professional Development of Specialized Experts;
- Decision on the Use of Budgetary Allocations for the Creation and Development of the Joint Air Defense System of the CIS Member States for Supporting the Activities of the Coordination Committee on Air Defense under the CIS Council of Defense Ministers in 2025;
- Agreement on Cooperation among the CIS Member States in the Food Industry.
