CIS Executive Committee and Eurasian Economic Commission Discuss Dialogue Prospects

A working meeting between Denis Trefilov, CIS Deputy Secretary-General, and Daniiar Imanaliev, Member of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Board – Minister in charge of Integration and Macroecnomics, took place at the EEC headquarters on July 10, 2026.

The discussion focused on further development of economic cooperation between the CIS Executive Committee and the Eurasian Economic Commission, including through the implementation of the 2026–2030 Action Plan adopted in May this year under the Memorandum on Deepening Cooperation between the two organizations.

A key topic of the meeting was the development of cooperation mechanisms that would help prevent legal inconsistencies during the drafting of documents within both the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Eurasian Economic Union. Such mechanisms would enable the two organizations to continue expanding effective mutually beneficial cooperation taking into account the largely overlapping membership of their participating states, as well as the commonality of their objectives and areas of activity.

The participants unanimously noted that both the CIS and the EAEU are committed to building a common space for mutually beneficial economic cooperation aimed at promoting the sustainable development of their member states.
