Kostanay Hosts Road Safety Conference

The scientific and practical conference entitled “A Common Approach of the CIS Member States to Prevent Child Road Traffic Injuries” was held in Kostanay, Kazakhstan, on August 14.

 

The conference brought together representatives of state traffic inspectorates of the ministries of internal affairs of the CIS member states. Delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan as an observer took part in the conference.

The experts discussed current challenges in road safety and joint mechanisms for addressing them. Particular attention was paid to sharing national experience on reducing child road traffic injuries.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the coordination of the Bureau for the Coordination of the Fight against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Crimes on the Territory of the CIS Member States, in accordance with the Comprehensive Action Plan for Improving Road Safety in the CIS Member States for 2024-2028, approved by a decision of the CIS Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs on September 15, 2023.
