A working meeting between Malik Bekturganov, Acting Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Yuri Zhdanov, Executive Secretary of the CIS Coordination Council of Prosecutors General, was held in Bishkek on August 10.
The meeting focused primarily on preparations for the next meeting of the CIS Coordination Council of Prosecutors General scheduled to take place in Kazan on September 30,
2026. The sides discussed the draft agenda, current issues and promising areas of the cooperation among prosecution authorities, as well as further strengthening the international legal cooperation.
The meeting also addressed the activities of the Representative Office of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation, including organizational and practical matters and further cooperation aimed at effectively carrying out assigned tasks. In this regard, Yuri Zhdanov expressed support for the measures taken by the Kyrgyz side and noted his readiness to provide the necessary assistance within the Coordination Council’s remit.
Following the meeting, the both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the constructive cooperation, developing established working contacts, and implementing joint initiatives.
In addition, Yuri Zhdanov was awarded an anniversary medal of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic for his contribution to the development of cooperation and interaction in ensuring national security.
