On August 4, 2026, the Council on Digitalization in Transport at the CIS Coordinating Transport Council held its 16th meeting in a hybrid format, chaired by Boris Tashimov, Chairman of the Council and Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee, the Executive Committee of the Coordinating Transport Council, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and associate members of the Coordinating Transport Council.
The participants discussed the implementation of documents adopted by the governing bodies of the Commonwealth aimed at strengthening cooperation in transport infrastructure, including:
- the Strategy for the Digitalization of the Main Multimodal Transport Corridors of the CIS Member States;
- the Action Plan for the Optimization of Infrastructure and the Development of International Transport Corridors within the Territories of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030;
- the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Second Stage (2026-2030) of the Strategy for Economic Development of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2030.
Representatives of Kazakhstan presented an initiative to create a Single Digital Transport and Logistics Map of the CIS, representatives of Tajikistan presented a draft Roadmap for the Implementation of the Strategy for the Digitalization of the Main Multimodal Transport Corridors of the CIS Member States, while representatives of Uzbekistan presented a draft Concept for the Establishment of Information and Logistics Centers.
Representatives of the Russian Federation gave presentations on digital transformation projects in the transport sector and briefed the participants on advanced solutions and best practices.
The Russian University of Transport announced an international session on training specialists for the digital transformation of the transport sector, to be held as part of the sixth International Scientific and Practical Conference Digital Technologies in Transport and Logistics. It was agreed that representatives of the Council on Digitalization in Transport and the Executive Committee of the Coordinating Transport Council would also participate in the session.
The Eurasian Economic Commission briefed the participants on digitalization activities in transport and logistics carried out within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The discussion provided a comprehensive picture of the digital transformation of transport systems in the countries participating in the work of the CIS Coordinating Transport Council and helped outline a work plan for the near future.
