The International multi-sport tournament, Phygital Games of the Future 2026, started in Astana on July 29 and will run until August 9. The tournament’s defining feature is its phygital format, which combines traditional sport with the digital world. Fans around the world can follow the tournament online. In addition, the competitions will be held at four venues across Kazakhstan’s capital. Beside sporting competitions, a special entertainment program has been prepared for spectators.
Nurlan Seitimov, CIS Deputy Secretary-General, took part in the Phygital Sport Summit 2026, which is taking place in Astana as part of the Games of the Future.
The Summit brought together government ministers from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, as well as international sports leaders, technology executives and sports professionals from all over the world.
The Summit’s program includes panel sessions dedicated to the development of phygital sports, international cooperation, digital technologies, innovations, and prospects of the development of sports industry.
In addition, a meeting of Nurlan Seitimov with Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, took place at the sidelines of the sports forums.
The parties discussed the development of the phygital movement, cooperation in sports education, and university sports across the Commonwealth, as well as the organization and holding of international sporting events.
