The 20th Youth Delphic Games of the CIS Member States will be held in Tajikistan from October 5 to 9, 2026.
Participants are expected to compete in piano, violin, visual art, wind instruments, academic, traditional and pop singing, as well as folk dance.
The Games aim to identify talented young people, encourage creative activities, enhance the aesthetic and spiritual development of the youth, as well as promote the values of national culture.
The activities of the International Delphic Committee are supported by 65 countries including Tajikistan.
The history of Delphic Games dates back to 582 BC, when they were known as the Pythian Games. More than 1600 years ago, the Pythian Games were banned and were revived only at the beginning of the 20th century. From 1927 to 1930, the Delphic Festival was held in Greece.
A new stage in the history of the Delphic Games began in 2000, when Russia hosted the first International Delphic Games with 27 countries participating. A total of 938 people competed in 18 categories, while the jury included representatives of 13 countries. To date, 19 Youth Delphic Games of the CIS Member States have been held.
Tajikistan first hosted the Youth Delphic Games of the CIS Member States on October 15-17, 2022. That year marked the 16th Delphic Games. More than 400 young talents aged 10 to 25 from all CIS member states participated in the competition.
