CIS Deputy Prosecutors General Meet in St. Petersburg

On August 20, 2026, Deputy Prosecutors General of the CIS member states met in St. Petersburg under the chairmanship of Petr Gorodov, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as Yuri Zhdanov, Executive Secretary of the CIS Coordination Council of Prosecutors General.

 

The meeting focused on current challenges and new approaches to recovering assets from abroad. The participants developed joint measures in this area, including a concept for an international treaty within the Commonwealth.

They exchanged their national experience, discussed proposals for improving the cooperation, and explored ways to further develop their working contacts. The outcomes of the meeting will be used in preparations for the 36th meeting of the CIS Coordination Council of Prosecutors General, scheduled to take place in Kazan (Russia) on September 30.
