Overall, in January–May 2026, compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, the Commonwealth of Independent States recorded the following changes:
- industrial output 1) increased by 1.0% (compared with 1.3 % in January–May 2025);
- commercial freight transport (excluding pipeline transport) 2) increased by 0.6 % (compared with 1.9 %);
- retail trade turnover 1) increased by 5.8 % (compared with 3.9 %).
In the first quarter of 2026, GDP across the CIS (at constant prices) increased by 0.8 %.
In January–April 2026, the value of the foreign trade turnover of goods across the Commonwealth (excluding data for Turkmenistan), measured at current prices, increased by 6.1 % compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Positive growth was recorded in:
- Azerbaijan (+2.9 %),
- Armenia (+0.3 %),
- Belarus (+19.1 %),
- Kazakhstan (+7.9 %),
- Moldova (+17.0 %),
- Russia (+4.8 %),
- Tajikistan (+21.0 %),
- Uzbekistan (+1.8 %).
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan recorded a 3.6 % decline in foreign trade turnover of goods.
