CIS Experts Agree on Draft Concept for Development of Fundamental Science

A meeting of the expert group to finalize and agree on of the draft Concept for the Development of Fundamental Science in the Commonwealth of Independent States took place at the CIS headquarters on July 23, 2026.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and the CIS Executive Committee.

The experts reviewed the comments and proposals submitted by the participating states and agreed on the draft Concept. It was decided to submit the document to the CIS Heads of Government Council for consideration.

The draft Concept for the Development of Fundamental Science is a specialized document, which elaborates and details the provisions of the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2026-2035 (in Russian), approved by the CIS Heads of Governments in September 2025 in Minsk.

The Draft aims to create, within the common scientific and technological space of the CIS, an effective environment for generating new fundamental knowledge that will serve as a foundation for fulfilling the tasks set out in the Strategy.
