The 69th meeting of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (hereafter the Council) took place in Kyrgyzstan from July 8 to 10, 2026. The meeting was organized by the Center for Standardization and Metrology under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic jointly with the Council’s Bureau for Standards.
The meeting was attended by heads and experts of national bodies responsible for standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and accreditation from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Council’s Bureau for Standards, the International Organization for Standardization, the International Electrotechnical Commission, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The participants considered more than thirty agenda items covering the Council’s key areas of activity, including:
- results of the Council’s work and implementation of the Council’s Development Strategy until 2030;
- international cooperation;
- interstate standardization programmes;
- metrological support;
- development of conformity assessment and accreditation systems;
- improvement of the legal and regulatory framework of the Commonwealth.
As part of the meeting program, the Second Commonwealth with a Mark of Quality International Conference took place. The conference participants discussed strategic and practical issues related to quality, digital transformation and personnel training.
The program of the Council’s meeting also included the CIS Quality Prize 2025 Award Ceremony for winners recognized for their product and service quality results. A total of 25 organizations of the CIS member states were awarded.
The next meeting of the Council is scheduled to take place in Moscow in November–December 2026.
