The Commonwealth countries are united in their assessment of the events of our glorious, heroic past and in taking measures to defend our common worldview values and ideals.
Thus, by a Decision of the CIS Heads of State Council in October 2022, 2025 in the Commonwealth of Independent States was declared the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight Against Nazism”.
In their Address, the leaders of the Commonwealth countries welcomed the UN General Assembly resolution “Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance”, and expressed their commitment to the goals and principles of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
Concluding the meeting, the collections were officially presented to the ambassadors of the CIS member states.
For reference
It should be recalled that pilot copies of the "Republics to the Front 1941-1945" collections were presented by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the heads of CIS member states during the annual informal meeting in St. Petersburg in December 2025.
