On March 27, 2026, a meeting of an expert group to discuss the draft General Provisions on Basic Organizations of the CIS Member States was held in Moscow via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and governmental bodies of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation as well as the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Economic Affairs Commission under the CIS Economic Council and representatives of the CIS Executive Committee.
The experts discussed proposals submitted by CIS Member States to the expert group, expressed the need to discuss the draft document at an expanded domestic level and decided to reconsider the draft at the next meeting of the expert group.
The draft General Provisions on Basic Organizations of the CIS Member States includes general recommendations on the procedure for granting the status of a basic organization, main areas of activity of basic organizations, as well as their interaction with CIS sectoral cooperation bodies and specialized organizations.
