The Commonwealth of Independent States plans to establish an Association of Creative Industries. The draft Statute of the Association was prepared by the Kazakh side in order to implement the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced at the summit in Dushanbe last October.
The first expert review of the document took place on March 30 at the CIS headquarters.
The meeting was attended by representatives of:
- Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan;
- the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation;
- the CIS Executive Committee.
During the meeting, experts discussed the comments and proposals on the draft Statute received from the states.
The next meeting of the expert group to finalize the draft Statute was scheduled for the second half of May.
