CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives Council Summarizes Outcomes of High-Level Statutory Bodies' Meetings and Outline Tasks for Implementing Reached Agreements

The Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Commonwealth Member States to the Statutory and other CIS bodies held a meeting on October 27 in Minsk, Belarus.

 

The Council members summarized the outcomes of the meetings of the CIS Heads of Government, the Council of Foreign Ministers, and the Heads of State Council. They also outlined tasks for implementing the adopted documents and reached agreements during these meetings.

The Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives took note of the information on the implementation of the Roadmap for executing the initiatives put forward by the heads of delegations during the meetings of the CIS Council of Heads of State, Council of Heads of Government, Council of Foreign Ministers, and Economic Council, specifically regarding cooperation in political, humanitarian, and social spheres.

The Council members decided to continue coordinating efforts to provide practical assistance in implementing the activities outlined in the Roadmap, as well as to conduct continuous monitoring of their progress.

Furthermore, the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives discussed the implementation of the 2023-2025 Action Plan for executing the Memorandum on Deepening Cooperation between the CIS Executive Committee and the Eurasian Economic Commission. They also reviewed the progress in preparing the corresponding Action Plan for 2026-2028.

The CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives Council approved the candidacy of Igor Petrishenko, First Deputy Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Independent States, to head the CIS Observer Mission for the early elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, scheduled for 30 November 2025.

Additionally, during the meeting, Konstantin Degtyarev, Acting Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the statutory and other CIS bodies, informed his colleagues about the prospects for cooperation between the CIS and African integration associations.

The next meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Commonwealth Member States to the Statutory and other CIS bodies is scheduled for November 25 in Minsk.

The Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Commonwealth Member States to the Statutory and other Commonwealth of Independent States bodies supports the activities of the CIS Heads of State Council , the Heads of Government Council, the Foreign Ministers Council, and the Economic Council. The Council develops proposals for Commonwealth strategy, works on draft documents of the CIS, follows the implementation of decisions and treaties, and systematically reports to the highest bodies of the Commonwealth.

The Council promotes cooperation among states on issues within the competence of the CIS and of mutual interest; considers current issues related to the development of interaction and deepening cooperation within the CIS;  promotes convergence of the positions of CIS member states on Commonwealth activities and the development of relations between the Commonwealth and interested states as well as the international organizations.
