Meeting on CIS Basic Organizations' Activities in Economic Sphere Held in Moscow

A meeting with the CIS Member States basic organizations in the economic sphere took place at the Moscow Office of the CIS Executive Committee on November 6, 2025.

 

The meeting addressed the participation of basic organizations in regulatory development, as well as the goals and tasks set for them within the Action Plan for implementing the second stage (2026–2030) of the CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030. The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the focus of the supreme CIS bodies on the activities of CIS sectoral cooperation bodies and the basic organizations interacting with them.

The heads and representatives of the basic organizations shared their experience in developing cooperation with state authorities and relevant structures of the CIS Member States. They raised issues concerning the grant allocation mechanism, the legal definition of the basic organization status, developing procedures for information exchange between basic organizations, and other matters.

The activities of the basic organizations are carried out in accordance with provisions approved by decisions of the Heads of Government Council, Ministers of Foreign Affairs Council, and Economic Council of the CIS.

The main areas of activity of the basic organizations include:

- training, retraining, and professional development of specialists from CIS member states in various fields of cooperation;

- conducting joint scientific research by interested CIS member states;

- developing recommendations for harmonizing and unifying regulatory frameworks, preparing relevant draft documents, and exchanging legal acts;

- organizing international scientific-practical conferences, seminars, and symposia;

- preparing scientific, methodological, informational, and analytical materials, among other activities.
