On November 12, 2025, the 45th meeting of the Coordinating Transport Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS CTC) was held in Tashkent as part of the 21st "Transport and Logistics – TransLogistica Uzbekistan 2025" International Exhibition.
The event was attended by the heads and authorized representatives of the transport ministries and departments of the CIS member states – the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan – as well as associate members, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Intergovernmental Council of Road Builders, the Interstate Aviation Committee, the Russian University of Transport as a basic organization of the CIS Member States, as well as trade unions, businesses, and others.
At the beginning of the event, I.R. Makhkamov, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded the "CIS Honorary Transport Worker" medal for his contribution to the development of cooperation in the field of transport.
Mikhail Myskin, Director of the CIS Executive Committee Department of Economic Cooperation, addressed the participants with a welcome address and presented a report on several agenda items, informing of the initiatives to digitalize the transport sector voiced by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K-Zh.Tokayev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Mirziyoyev at the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting on October 10, 2025.
He also reported on the work being carried out jointly with the Interstate Aviation Committee to prepare and approve a draft Memorandum of Cooperation between CIS Member States in the Development and Use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems in Civil Aviation.
The meeting agenda consisted of 14 issues, including the implementation of the decisions of the 44th CIS Coordination Transport Council meeting and prospects for developing cooperation in the transport sector within the CIS, the activities of the CIS Coordination Transport Council in promoting the digitalization of transport, the development of international transportation and transport security, and strengthening cooperation between the Coordination Transport Council of the CIS Member States and the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies.
In addition, the 18th meeting of the CIS Transport Safety Council was held as part of the CIS CTC events. Its participants discussed nine issues and visited transport facilities in Tashkent and Samarkand.
The next meeting of the CIS Coordinating Transport Council is scheduled for the second half of 2026 in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
