The Economic Affairs Commission under the CIS Economic Council held its regular meeting in Moscow on November 19 to discuss various aspects of economic cooperation among CIS member states.
Commission members received a report on the activities of the CIS basic organization for training specialists in creative industries, hospitality, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sectors – Saint Petersburg State University of Economics (SPbSUE) – covering its work during 2023-2025.
SPbSUE established the “Eurasian Institute of Tourism and MICE Industry” consortium to provide personnel and scientific support while strengthening professional ties in the field.
The Commission reviewed information about model practices for marketplace interactions with rights holders and sellers to prevent sales of non-original goods. These practices seek to develop self-regulation institutions in CIS digital markets, foster fair entrepreneurship, create safer consumer environments, prevent anti-monopoly violations, and advance e-commerce throughout member states.
The meeting concluded with the approval of the 2026-2027 Schedule of Reports on CIS sectoral cooperation bodies’ activities for presentation to the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives Council, the Economic Affairs Commission, and the CIS Economic Council.
Commission members also addressed financial matters and scheduled their next meeting for December 17, 2025.
