The “Commonwealth of Fashion” International Forum, addressing the development of the light industry in the CIS countries, was held on November 20-21 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev sent a greeting message to the Forum participants. Press Service Head Svetlana Malinina delivered the message.
The greeting noted that over its four years of existence, “Commonwealth of Fashion” Forum has strengthened its potential and significantly expanded its range of discussion topics. The substantial agenda, continually growing number of participants, and active event program clearly demonstrate the relevance and importance of the issues being discussed.
“Strong economic and social ties of the CIS member states enables the creation and development of production capabilities, cooperation, creative initiatives, and related services. The light and textile industry in the Commonwealth is now gaining new momentum. Work is being finalized on the Concept for Development of Cooperation in the Light Industry, which will unite efforts for the efficient use of available resources and address tasks related to positioning and promoting national brands”, – stated the welcoming address.
Sergey Lebedev also noted that the “Commonwealth of Fashion” Forum platform brings together representatives of state authorities, business, academia, professional associations, and creative groups. This diverse composition allows not only for the exchange of experience but also for formulating the industry's needs across the entire product chain – from idea to production, from creating product lines to promotion in domestic and foreign markets.
CIS Secretary-General expressed confidence that the ideas and proposals voiced at the Forum, along with the new contacts established, would contribute to the further development of integration ties within the Commonwealth.
