Inter-MFA Consultations on CIS Cultural-Humanitarian Cooperation Held in Moscow

Inter-ministerial consultations on the topic “Cooperation among CIS Member States in Culture, Science, Education, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Policy in the Context of Participation in Relevant International and Regional Projects and Events” were held in Moscow on November 27.

 

The consultations were attended by representatives from:

– Azerbaijan;

– Armenia;

– Belarus;

– Kazakhstan;

– Kyrgyzstan;

– Russia;

– Tajikistan;

– the CIS Executive Committee.

The parties discussed further deepening productive interaction among the Commonwealth states in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. An exchange of views took place regarding promoting common priorities of the CIS countries, including participation in major international and regional cultural and humanitarian projects and events, as well as expanding contacts between relevant authorities and organizations in culture, science, education, sports, tourism, and youth policy.

The representatives of the foreign policy agencies confirmed their readiness to facilitate further development of international cultural and humanitarian cooperation as part of interstate interaction and to maintain constructive dialogue in this area. The diplomats emphasized the importance of cultural and civilizational diversity, preserving cultural identity and mutual respect for traditions, values, cultural and historical heritage.
