Commonwealth Experts Discuss Directions for Further Industrial Cooperation

The 3rd meeting of the Working Group on Industrial Cooperation Development under the CIS Council on Industrial Policy was held on November 28, 2025, at the Moscow Office of the CIS Executive Committee.

The Working Group was established in accordance with the Comprehensive Set of Measures for Developing Industrial Cooperation of the CIS Member States until 2030.

The event was conducted via videoconference with the participation of representatives from:

– Belarus;

– Kazakhstan;

– Kyrgyzstan;

– Russia;

– Uzbekistan;

– the CIS Executive Committee.

The experts discussed in detail the progress in implementing the Concept for Developing Industrial Cooperation of the CIS Member States and the Comprehensive Set of Measures until 2030. The main goals of these documents are to create favorable and stimulating conditions for the development of national manufacturers participating in joint cooperative projects and to eliminate barriers in mutual trade of industrial goods.

The implemented measures contribute to:

– supporting and promoting innovative and technological projects in priority areas of interaction;

– increasing the production and export volumes of competitive, innovative, and knowledge-intensive products;

– modernizing the industry of the CIS countries.

The Russian Federation provided information on existing and developing business initiatives, major investment and infrastructure projects aimed at improving population welfare and consistent development of interaction within the Commonwealth.

The meeting included exchange of views on approaches to implementing the List of Priority Industrial Sectors and Directions for Industrial Cooperation based on national industrial development strategies. Work carried out to improve the regulatory framework to expand cooperation in key areas such as mining and metallurgy, light industry, and the production of advanced materials was specifically highlighted.

The next meeting of the Working Group is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
