A regular meeting of the members of the Interstate Coordination Council of the Interstate TV and Radio Company “Mir” (ITRC “Mir”) took place in Moscow on December 2, 2025. CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev participated in the meeting.
Addressing the Council members and meeting participants, Sergey Lebedev highlighted: “We have not only been working closely and effectively together for many years but have also been friends. ITRC “Mir” has been developing all these years alongside the Commonwealth. And, of course, it experiences the same challenges and joys that the CIS countries encounter. Yet, you do not lose optimism, and your news, programs and films are always positive and creative. This is very important, and I believe it is also part of the secret to the company’s success and popularity. The name itself implies that you are interstate. This is unique. There are no such companies anywhere else in the world. And you keep the bar up. The employees of ITRC “Mir” are always at the forefront of events, and you deliver objective, impartial, and truthful information about our countries to millions of people worldwide. Professionalism, talent, enthusiasm for creativity, love for the profession and the Commonwealth – this undoubtedly characterizes those who work at ITRC “Mir”. And, of course, all this would be impossible without the main ideological inspirer, the person who is passionate about his work and burns with enthusiasm for it – the Chairman of ITRC “Mir”, Radik Batyrshin. Thank you for quality content, consistent cooperation and love for your work”.
The CIS Secretary-General noted that the desire to act in accordance with the demands of the time and the multifaceted nature of the work of ITRC “Mir” are clearly reflected in the meeting’s agenda. He expressed confidence that coordinated decisions would be made on all discussed issues, allowing ITRC “Mir” to continue playing a key role in strengthening the humanitarian space of the Commonwealth.
The Council members and meeting participants discussed the main directions for developing ITRC “Mir’s” broadcasting, the company’s role in the information support of decisions by the Commonwealth’s supreme bodies, interaction with the CIS Executive Committee, the results of the work of the CIS Interstate Information Pool, the activities of the ITRC “Mir” training center, and plans for 2026.
The CIS Secretary-General toured the main studios and technical facilities of ITRC “Mir”, met with the TV and radio company’s staff, and noted the high level of professionalism and technical equipment of the production base.
