Inter-MFA Consultations on CIS States’ Interaction in Information Sphere Held in Minsk

Inter-ministerial consultations on “Interaction among CIS Member States in the Information Sphere” were held on December 11, 2025, at the Commonwealth headquarters in Minsk.

 

The consultations were attended by representatives from:

– Azerbaijan;

– Belarus;

– Kazakhstan;

– Kyrgyzstan;

– Russia;

– Tajikistan;

– Uzbekistan;

– the CIS Executive Committee.

Participants exchanged views on the forms, methods and specifics of information support for foreign policy and communication with the media, including issues related to this work amid current geopolitical realities.

The importance of maintaining direct contacts between the press services of the foreign policy agencies of the CIS member states and more active interaction in promoting digital platforms on social media and joint materials about the Commonwealth's activities was emphasized.

The work of the CIS Executive Committee in spreading on internet resources the information about activities of the Commonwealth member states in various spheres, including the outcomes of meetings of the Organization’s supreme bodies and the most important political, cultural and humanitarian events, was positively assessed.

The necessity of coordinating efforts to counter common information threats, including disinformation and fake news, was acknowledged.
