On December 11, 2025, during the 68th meeting of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (ISC), the presentation of the journal “Standards and Quality. CIS” took place. The initiative for its creation belongs to Russian Information Agency “Standards and Quality” and is supported by the CIS Executive Committee and the ISC.
CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev sent a greeting message to the readers of the journal “Standards and Quality. CIS”.
“Dear readers, friends!
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States and personally, I welcome the publication of the pilot issue of the journal “Standards and Quality. CIS”.
The emergence of this publication is a timely and important step on the path to deepening integration processes in our region. The journal, which brings together experts, practitioners and scientists, will become a significant contribution to strengthening a common technical policy and improving mechanisms for ensuring the quality and safety of products and services within the CIS space.
In the modern world, standards and quality systems play a role not only as a regulatory tool but also as a driver of economic development, innovation and sustainable growth. Harmonizing requirements, mutually recognizing conformity assessment results and unified approaches to accreditation and metrology – all this reduces trade barriers, protects consumer interests and enhances the competitiveness of our enterprises. This is the foundation not only for economic cooperation but also a guarantee of safety, health and well-being for millions of citizens in our countries.
The Commonwealth of Independent States has historically paid close attention to developing coordinated approaches in technical regulation, metrology and standardization. Our countries have done extensive work to create an interstate regulatory framework that allows for eliminating technical barriers to trade, promoting the free movement of goods and stimulating cooperative ties between enterprises.
The journal “Standards and Quality. CIS” is intended to become an authoritative platform for open dialogue between national standardization bodies, leading experts, industrialists and entrepreneurs. On its pages, we will be able to discuss best practices, share experiences, set current tasks and jointly seek solutions. Its focus on the specifics of our markets and the needs of the CIS member states’ economies will give the publication particular value.
I am confident that the journal will not only help popularize the principles of quality and standardization but will also become a practical tool for all those striving to create modern, competitive and safe products that meet the highest international requirements.
I wish the editorial board, authors and readers of the journal “Standards and Quality. CIS” creative success, interesting materials, productive work, and all the very best! May this publication become a reliable guide in the world of standards and quality for the entire Commonwealth”.
The pilot issue of the journal includes greetings from CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev, Head of Rosstandart Anton Shalaev, Chairman of the ISC Aybek Musaev, as well as materials submitted by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee and the ISC Bureau for Standards.
The journal “Standards and Quality. CIS” is aimed at information support for the activities of the ISC, as well as at popularizing the contribution of standardization, metrology and certification to forming a quality infrastructure within the CIS space.
