The Economic Affairs Commission under the CIS Economic Council held a regular meeting in Moscow on December 17, 2025 to discuss various aspects of economic cooperation among the CIS member states.
Within the framework of the meeting, its participants:
– Studied the issue of initiatives by the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC);
– Reviewed the report on the activities of the CIS Coordination Council for Plant Quarantine for 2019–2024;
– Approved the report on the activities of the CIS Consultative Council on Consumer Rights Protection for 2018–2024;
– Reviewed the report on the activities of the CIS basic organization for advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of selection and seed production of vegetable crops and potatoes – the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing”;
– Considered the draft Regulations on the interstate event “Commonwealth Fair”, developed by the CIS Executive Committee jointly with the Kazakh side and the CIS Interstate Council for Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities;
– Summarized the Commission’s work in 2025.
All participants noted the high level of organization and conduct of the meetings by the Tajik side, as well as its effective work during its chairmanship of the Commission. In 2026, the chairmanship of the Commission will pass to Turkmenistan.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for January 21, 2026.
