The 11th meeting of the High-Level Working Group for Analyzing Obstacles in Mutual Trade of the CIS Member States was held on December 17, 2025, via videoconference at the Moscow Office of the CIS Executive Committee. Mikhail Myskin, Director of the Economic Cooperation Department, chaired the meeting.
The meeting was attended by representatives of:
– Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan;
– the Eurasian Economic Commission;
– the CIS Executive Committee;
– the Economic Affairs Commission under the CIS Economic Council;
– business community.
The agenda of the 11th Working Group meeting included problematic issues concerning the supply of carpets and carpet products, household electrical appliances, sheet glass, Portland cement, metallurgical products, and the application of a differentiated approach in levying excise duties on imported and domestically produced goods.
The meeting participants’ special attention was drawn to necessity of finding an integration compromise within the CIS space regarding product certification. It was stated that there is one potential solution for this, which could be the signing of an Agreement on Technical Barriers in Mutual Trade of the CIS Member States.
The discussion of the issues proceeded in a constructive manner, and corresponding decisions were adopted as a result.
The next meeting of the Working Group is planned for February–March 2026.
