A common electricity market has been established within the CIS space, due to which the Commonwealth energy sector is steadily growing, CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev told RIA Novosti in an interview. He noted the contribution of nuclear technologies to the economic development of the CIS states.
The Secretary-General reported that the CIS Electric Power Council is developing a draft strategy for the development of the Commonwealth fuel and energy complex until 2050.
Sergey Lebedev also noted that ensuring energy security is one of the priorities of the CIS members state policy and a primary direction of cooperation in this sphere.
