On January 16, 2026, CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Aleksandr Rogozhnik held a meeting at the CIS Executive Committee’s Moscow office. Aleksandr Rogozhnik is leaving his post following his appointment by President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko as Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Sergey Lebedev expressed gratitude to Aleksandr Rogozhnik for the fruitful joint work and wished him success in his new position.
The parties also discussed the participation of the Republic of Belarus in the regional integration processes, as well as the current issues of cooperation within the CIS, and exchanged views on the organization of work of the Economic Affairs Commission under the CIS Economic Council.
