On January 22, 2026, a meeting was held at the CIS Executive Committee’s Moscow office between CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev and Andrey Blagodyrenko, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of MIA “Rossiya Segodnya” and Head of Sputnik News Agency in the CIS and other neighboring countries.
Sergey Lebedev commended the high professional level of Sputnik News Agency’s journalists and thanked Andrey Blagodyrenko for the prompt and reliable media coverage of events taking place in the Commonwealth.
Andrey Blagodyrenko informed about the agency’s work and development prospects, as well as plans for the upcoming year.
The parties discussed Sputnik’s participation in shaping the common CIS information space, its involvement in international media forums, and the work of the SputnikPro project, which is aimed at sharing experience with foreign colleagues as well as developing media communications and professional ties within and beyond the Commonwealth.
