On January 26, 2026, a meeting was held at the CIS Executive Committee's Moscow office between CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev and the Secretary of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers, Lieutenant General Yuri Dashkin.
The parties discussed:
– issues of organizational interaction between the structures;
– key areas of activity of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers;
– matters related to the implementation of the Concept of Military Cooperation among Commonwealth of Independent States Member States until 2025;
– the upcoming Coordination Meeting of Heads of International Military Cooperation Bodies of the CIS Defense Ministries.
The Coordination Meeting is scheduled for February 10 in Moscow. It is planned to work out joint practical measures for implementing the Concept of Military Cooperation among Commonwealth of Independent States Member States until 2030 and to discuss proposals for the development of multilateral military cooperation in the near and medium term.
