A meeting of the expert group to coordinate the draft Concept for the Development of Fundamental Science in the Commonwealth of Independent States was held on January 30 at the CIS headquarters.
The meeting was attended by representatives from:
– Armenia;
– Belarus;
– Kazakhstan;
– Russia;
– Tajikistan;
– the CIS Executive Committee.
The experts reviewed the comments and proposals received on the draft Concept, finalized the document and reached an agreement on it. It was decided to submit the Concept for consideration by the CIS Heads of Government Council.

The draft Concept for the Development of Fundamental Science is a specialized document that elaborates and details the provisions of the CIS Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development for 2026–2035, approved by the CIS Heads of Government in Minsk in September 2025.
The draft aims to establish an effective environment within the common CIS scientific and technological space for generating new fundamental knowledge, which will form the basis for fulfilling the tasks outlined in the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development.
