CIS First Deputy Secretary-General Igor Petrishenko Meets with Newly Appointed Permanent Representative of Russia to CIS Statutory and Other Bodies Alexander Lukashevich

On February 2, 2026, CIS First Deputy Secretary-General Igor Petrishenko and the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Russia to the CIS Statutory and Other Bodies Alexander Lukashevich held a meeting at the CIS Executive Committee headquarters.

Igor Petrishenko congratulated Alexander Lukashevich on his new appointment and expressed confidence that his extensive professional experience would contribute to strengthening integration processes and developing mutually beneficial cooperation among the CIS member states.

During the meeting, the parties discussed:

– organization of a number of important events within the CIS this year, including meetings of the Commonwealth’s highest statutory bodies. The first of these, the meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, will take place on April 17 in Kaliningrad;

– current issues of cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States;

– aspects of Russia’s participation in integration processes across the CIS space;

– implementation of the Action Plan dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
