On February 18, 2026, a regular meeting of the Economic Affairs Commission under the CIS Economic Council took place in Pavilion №71 at the VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy; abbreviation from “Vystavka dostizheniy narodnogo khozyaystva”) grounds in Moscow, chaired by Turkmenistan. During the meeting, several aspects of economic cooperation among the CIS member states were reviewed.
The Commission members:
- Reviewed the draft Concept for Digital Transformation of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex Industries of the Commonwealth of Independent States Member States and the draft Action Plan for its implementation. The documents were prepared by the National University of Science and Technology MISIS (a CIS basic organization for training, professional retraining, and advanced training of personnel for the mining and metallurgical industry, modern materials science, and industrial waste recycling) jointly with the CIS Executive Committee;
- Approved the draft Decision of the CIS Economic Council regarding amendments to the Regulations of the “Radionavigation” Interstate Council;
- Reviewed the draft Interstate Radionavigation Programme of the Commonwealth of Independent States Member States for 2027–2030;
- Heard the Information on the results of implementing the Interstate Targeted Programme entitled “Rehabilitation of Territories of States Affected by Uranium Mining Industries”;
- Approved the draft Decision of the CIS Economic Council on granting the status of a CIS basic organization for training, advanced training of specialists and highly qualified scientific personnel in the field of aquaculture to the educational institution “Belarusian State Agricultural Academy”;
- Heard the Report on the activities of the CIS basic organization for interstate exchange of scientific and technical information, the federal state budgetary institution of science, the All-Russian Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of the Russian Academy of Sciences (VINITI RAS);
- Heard the Report on the activities of the CIS basic organization in the field of professional training and scientific-technical support for the development of the transport complex, the federal state autonomous educational institution of higher education “Russian University of Transport” RUT (MIIT);
- Heard the Report on the implementation of the Interstate Cooperation Programme of the CIS Member States in the field of Geodesy, Cartography, Spatial Data, Geoinformation Technologies, Remote Sensing of the Earth, Cadastral Registration and Registration of Rights to Real Estate for the period up to 2026;
- Reviewed the draft Protocol on amendments to the Protocol on Electronic Information Exchange between CIS Member States for Tax Administration Purposes dated November 2, 2018;
- Heard information from Irina Yaremko, Head of the Department for Cooperation with the CIS Countries and External Relations of the Strategic Development and Hospitality Directorate of VDNKh JSC, on events planned at VDNKh for the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States;
Reviewed financial matters, as well as the draft agenda for the joint meeting of the CIS Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives to the CIS Statutory and Other Bodies scheduled for March 31, 2026.
