Within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, 18 educational institutions and organizations are endowed with the status of CIS basic organizations in various areas of educational activity.
In 2025, the basic organizations:
- ensured, at an appropriate level, the fulfillment of tasks defined by their founding documents;
- developed various joint educational programmes for higher and postgraduate professional education;
- implemented qualitatively programmes for training, retraining, and advanced training of specialists from the CIS member states;
- applied modern distance learning methods and digital technologies;
- carried out scientific research;
- implemented numerous international educational projects.
Timely information on the activities of the basic organizations was disseminated through the official websites of the institutions.
In order to enhance the level of development of professional competencies of personnel, interaction with the basic organizations will continue in 2026. It is envisaged to utilize their potential for analyzing the state and prospects of cooperation development among the CIS member states in the educational sphere, and for preparing proposals on cooperation development.
The Council for Cooperation in Education of the CIS Member States and the CIS Executive Committee will continue to support the practical activities of the basic organizations, including in organizing the activities of the Basic Organization in the field of adult education and educational activities after the adoption of the relevant Decision of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers.
