On 22 April 2026, a regular meeting of the Economic Affairs Commission under CIS Economic Council was held in Moscow, during which a number of aspects of economic cooperation among the CIS member states were reviewed.
The meeting addressed the following:
- Information on the main target macroeconomic indicators of economic development of the CIS member states for 2025, prepared by the CIS Statistical Committee;
- Information on the conduct of the 2020 round of population censuses and preparations for the 2030 round in the CIS member states;
- Activities of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications and the CIS Coordinating Council of Informatization under the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications for 2021-2025;
- Information on the results of the implementation of the Action Plan for the first stage of the CIS Economic Development Strategy for the period up to 2030;
- Draft Plan for the implementation of the Conceptual Framework for cooperation among the CIS member states in the field of labor standardization for 2026-2030;
- Draft Action Plan for the first stage (2026-2030) of the implementation of the Main Directions of Cooperation among the CIS member states in the field of Forestry and the Timber Industry the period up to 2035;
- Draft Decision of the CIS Economic Council to grant the platform "Globalskill.ru" the status of technology platform under the Interstate Programme for Innovation Cooperation of CIS Member States for the period up to 2030 in the direction of “Digital Platform”;
- Draft Recommendations on the mutual recognition of methodologies for the detection and identification of quarantine objects in mutual trade among the CIS member states;
- Report on civil law protection for victims of competition violations;
- Report on the activities of Federal State-Financed Institution “Federal Centre for Animal Health”, the CIS basic organization for professional development and retraining of personnel in the field of animal diseases diagnoses and control;
- Report on the activities of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), the CIS basic organization for training, professional retraining and professional development of personnel in field of peaceful uses of atomic energy;
- Information on the trade policy regime, export and import regulation measures, development in key economic sectors, the financial and credit sphere, commodity, monetary and investment policies of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2025;
- Matters related to the financial and economic activities of the CIS bodies.
The Commission members approved the draft agenda of the 110th meeting of the CIS Economic Council.
The next Economic Affairs Commission under CIS Economic Council will be held on May 26, 2026.
