The 15th Congress of Oncologists and Radiologists of the CIS and Eurasia is taking place on 22-24 April 2026 in Minsk. The forum is included in the Plan of Main Events for the preparation and holding of the Year of Health Protection in the CIS in 2026, as well as in the work plan of the CIS Healthcare Cooperation Council.
The Congress, with the support of the CIS Executive committee, was organized by:
- the Association of Directors of Oncology and Radiology Centres and Institutes of the CIS and Eurasia;
- the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation;
- the ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus;
- the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (the CIS basic organization on oncology);
- the N.N.Alexandrov National Cancer Centre of Belarus.
A plenary session of the Congress was held on 23 April, in which CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev took part.
Addressing the forum participants, he stressed that during the Year of Health Protection in the CIS, member states are reassessing the contribution of high technologies to the quality and length of life of their citizens.
The CIS Secretary-General noted that over its nearly thirty-year history the Congress has become a professional bridge between member states. The forum is a unique space where different schools and traditions come together for one great goal – defeating diseases. It is precisely through close international cooperation, open exchange of clinical experience and fundamental research results that the treatment standards, which will save thousands of lives in CIS countries in the future, are born.
According to Sergey Lebedev, new horizons are opening today thanks to deep scientific and practical interactions among CIS member states: from tumor genome sequencing and introduction of precision immunology to the use of artificial intelligence in diagnostics and robot-assisted surgery. At the same time, it is important to remember that there is a doctor, whose talent, experience and compassion breathe life into the most complex innovations and who stands behind every advanced piece of equipment.
