Twelve teams from eight CIS countries have made it to the final of the CIS Young Specialists League of the Case-In International Engineering Championship. Finalists will present their findings on current industry challenges, share professional practices, and strengthen cooperation across the Commonwealth.
Ninety-six young specialist from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan took part in the national qualifying stages.
“We have been running this project for the fourth year now. Each year we see strong interest from participants and support from field-specific regulatory bodies. Some of the presented solutions have already found their practical application. For example, some of the solutions have been implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic. It is important to emphasize that participants not only develop teamwork and systems thinking, but also build horizontal connections and find new partners across the Commonwealth. This year, the Championship brought together 33 teams from 8 countries,” noted Artem Korolev, founder of Case-In.
During the national qualifying stages, the teams worked on the case “Technologies of the Future” and selected a project either in industrial sector or in energy sector (a new nuclear power plant, a metallurgical combine, a RES-park with energy storage, etc.). They developed a strategic roadmap and business model for theirs projects, which have potential for further integration across the CIS. Additionally, young specialists proposed interstate instruments (for example, a template “green” contract structure or a framework for centers of Excellence) that would enable the implementation of their projects.
Following the experts assessment, the strongest teams from each country advanced to the finals:
- Azerbaijan: Iron Fist (Azerbaijan Railways CJSC);
- Armenia: Armenian NPP (Armenian Nuclear Power Plant;
- Belarus: Strategists 360 (Belenergosetproekt RUE), MinskEnergy (Minskenergo RUE);
- Kazakhstan: Qarmet (Qarmet JSC);
- Kyrgyzstan: next energy, EnergoTeam (Kyrgyzstan NEC OJSC);
- Russia: Yarenergo (branch of Rosseti Center PJSC – Yarenergo), Carbon Footprint (Mosenergo PJSC);
- Tajikistan: combined team of Shabakahoi Intikoli Bark OJSC and team of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources;
- Uzbekistan: combined team Energy.uz.
By prior agreement with companies, the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council will submit the teams’ projects to relevant ministries to assess the prospects for their practical implementation.
The Championship final will take place on May 18-23, 2026, in Moscow. Participants will present their refined projects to the industry community and share production practices. Winners and runners-up will get an opportunity for career growth and further implementation of their projects.
The League is organized by the Nadezhnaya Smena Fund and the International Union of Instrument Engineers and Specialists in Information and Telecommunications Technology. The Championship is supported by the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Energy Agency by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
