CIS Representative Takes Part in Round Table “Collective Security Treaty Organization: Together for Strengthening World Peace and Stability”

On May 19, 2026, a round table entitled “Collective Security Treaty Organization: Together for Strengthening World Peace and Stability” took place in Vienna.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, international and regional organizations, as well as experts and journalists. The CIS Executive Committee during online meeting was represented by Alim Dzhaksybekov, Deputy Director of the Department for Security Cooperation.

He stressed that the first and foremost strategic objective for the further development of the CIS and CSTO is their organic inclusion in the development of regional and global processes and the search for new, effective forms of cooperation in the field of security.

The implementation of the Roadmap for the development of cooperation between the CIS, the CSTO and the SCO approved by their Secretaries-General of in September 2025, ensures deepening the dialogue on security; adjusting methods of joint counterterrorism efforts, and responses to other threats and challenges.

The round table participants discussed establishing a new architecture of security in Eurasia, the cooperation between the CSTO and international organizations, including the CIS, in strengthening global and regional stability.
