On May 19, 2026, the opening ceremony of the League of Young Professionals of the CIS and BRICS – a key international track of the 14th International Engineering Championship CASE-IN – was held at the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” (MPEI). The event brought together over 80 young engineers representing leading industry companies, universities and research associations from the CIS and BRICS countries.
The participants were welcomed by Alexander Tarasov, MPEI Vice-Rector for International Relations who emphasized the strategic role of the university as the CIS basic organization for training personnel in the electric power industry and as the coordinator of the “Energy” track within the framework of BRICS cooperation.
“Today we are launching not just a competition, but a true platform for shaping the engineering elite of the future. The League is a space where borders are erased, and engineering thought becomes a universal language for solving real industry challenges,” noted Taras Kupchikov, Chairman of the CIS Electric Power Council.
The choice of MPEI as the venue for the League’s opening ceremony confirms the university’s high international status as a training hub for the global energy industry and an effective platform for dialogue between young professionals from different countries.
