CIS Secretary-General Sends Greetings to International Scientific and Practical Conference “Russia and the World: Dialogues – 2026. New Reality”

On May 20, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Russia and the World: Dialogues – 2026. New Reality” was held in Moscow at the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences.

CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev sent greetings to the participants of the conference.

In his message, he noted that the modern world is facing serious political, economic, and social challenges amid growing turbulence and emerging threats. Sergey Lebedev emphasized that, under conditions of global instability, the CIS member states continue to develop mutually beneficial integration, while devoting attention to strengthening the humanitarian space and preserving cultural heritage and historical memory.

The message also highlighted the upcoming 35th anniversary of the CIS, which will be celebrated in 2026. According to the CIS Secretary-General, this milestone is not only an occasion to reflect on the path traversed, but also an opportunity to further strengthen multilateral cooperation.

“Global trends demonstrate that there is currently no alternative to the CIS,” – Sergey Lebedev noted.

 He also underscored the importance of initiatives aimed at developing international professional dialogue and expanding cooperation among the CIS member states.

In conclusion, Sergey Lebedev expressed gratitude to the National Research Institute for Communications Development for its longstanding efforts to strengthen the CIS humanitarian space and for organizing this international expert platform, which brings together scholars, government representatives, and experts from various countries.

The greeting message of the CIS Secretary-General was delivered by Alexandr Matyash, Director of the Information and Analytical Department of the CIS Executive Committee.
